What is yellowheart veneer?
Yellowheart veneer is a thin slice of real wood, Euxylophora paraensis, native to the Brazilian Amazon. Slicing it thin stretches one vividly colored tree across many sheets, so a single log covers far more surface than the same wood sawn into solid boards. Because it is genuine wood veneer, not a printed laminate, it sands, stains, and finishes exactly like the solid board it came from.

Appearance and figure
Yellowheart's color is its whole reason for being, a genuinely bright lemon to golden yellow that few other species can offer naturally. It mellows slightly to a warmer gold with age, but holds its color better over time than some other vivid exotics like padauk. Grain is generally straight and even, with a fine texture and moderate natural luster.

Working and finishing tips
Yellowheart cuts cleanly with a sharp razor knife and presses well with standard wood glue or contact cement. It is a genuinely cooperative exotic, glues and finishes cleanly without the quirks some bright colored species carry.
A clear finish keeps the yellow tone true. A UV inhibiting topcoat helps preserve the brightest color for longer, though some gentle mellowing over years is normal.
Honest cautions.
- Color will mellow slightly over time. Not as dramatically as padauk's orange, but expect a gentle warming toward a deeper gold with years of light exposure.
- Best paired thoughtfully. Its brightness can overwhelm a design if overused, small doses against darker woods usually read best.
- Amazon sourced. As with any Amazon origin species, ask us about current sourcing if it matters to your project.
